About the building
The history of one of the country’s most prominent schools dates back to the early 20th century. The school building’s preliminary construction at Mária Terézia square began in 1909, which was completed in the summer of 1911, and in September the boys’ and girls’ schools started their work with 6-6 classes. In 1926, the two schools were merged and the number of classes increased to 20. In addition to practical lessons and demonstration classes, the number of scientific lectures increased, and the most eminent researchers and scientists of the time were regular visitors. The devastation caused by the world wars and the events of 1956 did not spare the school building, which was renovated in 1997-98 to its present form.
The chosen reference room is not only a classroom but also functions as a venue for teacher training, therefore it is of particular importance that it has good acoustic properties.
About the project
We created an acoustic reference classroom in collaboration with Saint-Gobain Ecophon at Fazekas Mihály Primary School and High School in Budapest. Our company carried out the project establishment, the room acoustic measurements, the computer-aided room acoustic design and the control measurements. The project was financed by Entel Műszaki Fejlesztő Kft. and Ecophon. The handover took place in the presence of a representative of the Ministry of Human Resources.
