About the building

The characteristically styled Budapest hotel of the Hard Rock Hotel chain is located in Budapest’s heart, close to theaters and restaurants. In addition to the cafe and bar, as well as the bistro restaurant, the 5-star hotel also offers a rooftop skybar with a view of the Opera House and the Basilica, which is also an ideal venue for events.

About the project

The background music service on the roof terrace of the Hard Rock Hotel was causing higher noise levels on the facades of nearby residential buildings than the legal limits, so the hotel asked our team to help them design a solution that would maintain the music service but eliminate the disturbance of residential buildings by carrying out an acoustic scaling study. The project involved creating a large-scale acoustic model of all the buildings in the area and using calculations from this model to determine the optimal acoustic solution for the hotel.
